Oven Problems Our Technicians Fix

When baking or roasting fails, the issue is often isolated to specific electrical or mechanical components. Our technicians arrive with diagnostic tools to test circuits, calibrate probes, and restore consistent heat.

Oven Won't Heat Up

When your oven stays ice cold, the primary culprit is often a burned-out bake element, a worn gas igniter that cannot trigger the valve, a blown thermal fuse, or a malfunctioning electronic control board. Our technicians isolate the exact failure point safely.

Food Burns or Stays Raw at the Set Temperature

Uneven baking happens when the internal temperature sensor drifts out of resistance tolerance or the control board drops calibration. A quick tip: verify this at home by placing an independent oven thermometer inside to measure real heat fluctuations before calling.

Broiler Not Working

If the top element remains dead or your roast will not brown, the broil heating element or its dedicated relay switch has likely failed. We test high-heat broil elements and igniters to bring your top-down heat back swiftly.

Door Stuck Locked After Self-Clean

Self-cleaning cycles lock the door with a motorized latch that only releases once the oven cools completely. If the lock motor jams or a microswitch fails, forcing it can shatter the door glass. We release the mechanism and replace failed switches safely.

Light, Fan or Display Not Working

Convection fans circulate warm air for even roasting; when motor bearings seize or wiring degrades, hot spots develop across your trays. We replace dead interior lamps, noisy convection blowers, faulty touchpads, and unresponsive electronic control boards with certified OEM parts.

Important Maintenance Warning

Planning to Run Self-Clean? Read This First

The self-clean feature works by ramping internal oven temperatures up to 900°F (480°C) to incinerate baked-on grease. This extreme heat subjects high-limit thermal fuses, wiring insulation, motorized door locks, and delicate microprocessors on the electronic control board to massive thermal stress. It is very common for an oven to completely shut off or permanently jam right after a self-clean cycle. We strongly advise homeowners never to run self-clean right before hosting big family meals or holiday gatherings, and to wipe up spills manually with mild cleansers whenever possible.

Oven Repair Questions

Answers to frequent questions about oven elements, slow heating times, and wall oven repair decisions.

01. How do I know if the bake element is bad?

Inspect the bottom coil when the oven is turned off and cold. A bad bake element often displays visible physical signs: a blistered coating, a cracked outer casing, or charred discoloration. When turned on to bake, a functioning element glows bright red; if it stays entirely black or sparks violently, it requires immediate replacement.

02. Why does my oven take so long to preheat?

If your oven takes 30 to 45 minutes just to reach 350°F, one of several components has degraded. In electric ovens, the bake element may have partially lost resistance, forcing only the broil element or convection heater to carry the load. In gas ovens, a weakened igniter may take too long to open the gas safety valve. A drifted temperature sensor can also misread cavity heat.

03. Is an older wall oven worth fixing?

Yes, in the vast majority of cases. Built-in wall ovens are custom-fitted to your kitchen cabinetry dimensions. Replacing an older wall oven frequently involves costly cabinet alterations, custom trim carpentry, and electrical modifications if new unit dimensions differ. Having a certified technician replace an element, sensor, or control board is almost always significantly faster and far more economical.
